A practically sized elegant casserole will be a staple in your kitchen for delicious meals for slow roasting and any type of gourmet cooking. Cast iron distributes heat evenly, avoiding annoying hot-spots; it retains heat superbly and, once hot, can be kept up to temperature on minimal heat settings, conserving energy! A special design feature on the underside of the lid means condensation drips down during cooking, ensuring the end result is moist and effortless. The design incorporates large, ergonomic handles for safer lifting and also has a more rounded sensual base for easier use, a re-designed lid that highlights this quality brand and its French origin, and finally, stainless steel lid knob as standard. It can be used for anything you need, be it slow cooking on a hob or in the oven.  The base is covered in extremely smooth enamel, making it suitable for use on the smooth surface of ceramic and induction hobs as well as all other types of hobs.

BEFORE FIRST USE:

Before using your cookware for the first time, remove the stickers, clean it with hot water and leave it to dry. Then brush the inside with a small amount of vegetable oil. Warm it over a low heat for a few minutes and wipe off the excess oil. Your product is now ready to use!

COOKING:

The cast iron ensures optimal heat retention which means that there is no need to cook at a high temperature. For higher temperatures, the cast iron must be heated gradually. To avoid creating thermal shock, do not use the booster function on induction hobs.

CHASSEUR enamelled cast-iron cookware does not naturally have a non-stick coating. It develops one gradually over many uses thanks to seasoning. Cooking fats or foods penetrate the pores of the inner enamel and make it increasingly smooth, eventually forming a non-stick protective layer.  Using oil will prevent sticking, but, at the same time, a certain level of sticking is required help brown, cook and reduce the food.

We recommend that you avoid immersing your cookware in cold water while it is still warm as this could damage the enamel.

WASHING:

If any food residue is still stuck, soak it in warm water and washing up liquid.
You can put your CHASSEUR product in the dishwasher (with the exception of products with a wooden handle), but we don’t recommend that you do this regularly. Modern cleaning agents could attack and tarnish the enamel.

Leave your cookware to cool down before washing it with a non-abrasive sponge. Do not use very abrasive cleaners or sponges so as to avoid damaging the enamel.
